Ann Werner is a registered Industrial / Organisational psychologist, and registered Life Transition, Career and Business Coach running her practice from the Southern suburbs of Cape Town.
She is passionate about the shifts and movement experienced over various life stages, particularly having experienced many of these shifts herself:
after school, graduating from university into a practical ‘gap’ year, she went on to work in small businesses and corporations in search
of her niche.
A quarter-life decision found her completing her Honours and Masters degrees in Industrial Psychology at Stellenbosch University, these particular qualifications being shared with the milestone events of the births of her two children.
After her internship and registration, Ann opened her practice from home and spent the following 10 years honing in on all aspects of
career counselling and guidance. She focused on working with career decisions required for school leavers, those experiencing quarter-life and midlife transitions and also those entering retirement.
Being trained in a variety of psychometric measurements, comprehensive assessments were provided in need, especially for the school leavers. She was fortunate to enjoy getting to know families well over the years, often seeing the first-born children and then the siblings that followed!
Ann was involved in workshops, and school careers evenings and was key speaker at many of these events.
Shifting into the early stages of the mid-career phase, Ann decided that it was time to adapt and upskill and hence embarked on a coaching diploma in 2016, graduating in 2017 with a DIPC (Diploma in Practitioner Coaching). This has allowed her to expand her range of modalities and to include
coaching with counselling, guidance and facilitation.
Ann is as passionate about the work that she has always done, and is excited to bring her new learnings to her sessions.
Time has been devoted to research and understanding careers in this ever-increasing time of change, providing clients with an up to date relevancy and practical application.
